Kirsten Perry Large Vase

A large sculptural vase by Melbourne-based ceramic artist, Kirsten Perry. This piece is stunning as a unique decorative piece on it's own or with foliage and flowers. It was purchased from Modern Times for $800 and has not been used.

About Kirsten Perry:
Kirsten predominately slip casts mid-fired functional and non-functional vessels that pay homage to traditional ceramics. The bio-morphic objects she creates are initially carved from disposable materials such as foam and cardboard, then translated into ceramic. Something is gained in this translation; somehow more than the evidence of her process, such as the hope and joy that difference can offer. Kirsten's process highlights the texture of the foam and cardboard and often exaggerates imperfection - she is attracted to flaws and vulnerabilities. The objects have an unusual beauty — what she imagines to be some sort of living organism from a planet far away.
